As COATS Phase 7 begins winding down, here is a brief summary of the work completed during the last three months of 2019.
Minutes from the annual PTAP meeting were finalized, distributed, and posted to the WSRTC website along with a report about the meeting. The project team continued studying and evaluating needs for website development and maintenance. Correspondence concerning abstracts and presentations at the next NRITS/ITE meeting was conducted. A quarterly update was posted on the project’s pages on the WSRTC website.
A draft of the Western States Rural Transportation Technology Implementers Forum Handbook: A Practical How-To Guide for Planning and Executing the Forum, Version 2019 was completed.
As the 15th Annual event, the 2020 Forum is a milestone in the history of the Forum and the COATS partnership. The event is scheduled for June 16th – 18th, in Yreka, California. At the beginning of the quarter, a Save the Date postcard was sent to announce this year’s Forum and catch the attention of potential attendees. The Call for Abstracts was released mid-way through the quarter. Both items were posted on the websites. In addition, the updated fact sheet was also posted to the WSRTC website. Finally, the research team completed a draft of the 2019 Forum Final Report and finished posting a report and images from the event.
Before the COATS Phase 7 project ends on January 31st, 2020, Western States Forum abstracts will be selected, and a preliminary agenda penciled out. The Forum meeting venue will be secured, and a lodging block established. Registration materials will be drafted. Expect to see updates both here and on the Forum website as preparations continue.
