UPDATE: Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 - Part 2
One way to use One Stop Shop to recognize changing conditions on the roadway is to watch the CMS icons and messages. A yellow CMS icon indicates an active message. This image from a CMS near Mt. Shasta shows the message, "ICY ROADS - REDUCE SPEED":
![OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): This CMS near Mt. Shasta shows that there are icy roads and advises travelers to reduce their speeds. OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): This CMS near Mt. Shasta shows that there are icy roads and advises travelers to reduce their speeds.](../Images/OSS2010-03-09-10.png)
A quick check of the cameras near the CMS yields further information. The highway doesn't look too bad here:

And it doesn't look bad here either, although snow is low on the mountain:
![OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): Another CCTV camera at the I5-SR89 interchange shows snow on the lower parts of the mountain. OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): Another CCTV camera at the I5-SR89 interchange shows snow on the lower parts of the mountain.](../Images/OSS2010-03-09-12.png)
But, just a short distance further, and you'll find icy conditions along the road:

It looks pretty bad here, particularly near the shoulder:
![OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): The Black Butte Summit CCTV camera also shows icy road conditions. OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): The Black Butte Summit CCTV camera also shows icy road conditions.](../Images/OSS2010-03-09-14.png)
More of the same south of Weed:

And it definately looks like winter north of Weed:

Yreka appears to be in the clear:

And, it doesn't look bad as you start up the pass:
![OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): As you go up Siskiyou Pass the roads still look pretty good. OSS Screenshot (3/9/2010): As you go up Siskiyou Pass the roads still look pretty good.](../Images/OSS2010-03-09-18.png)
Even further up the pass on the California side it's clear, although there appears to be some moisture on the road:

But on the Oregon side, it's Winter again:

It looks really bad here. These images just go to show you how conditions can vary in this region. As always, watch for changing conditions and drive carefully!
